It’s official, no RTX 5070 Ti Founders Edition from NVIDIA

One reference in particular was not elected: the RTX 5070 Ti. There is actually a second one, but which concerns us less in France: the RTX 5090 D. For those who are not too aware of the existence of the latter, it is a card with characteristics completely identical to those of the RTX 5090 except for one detail: castration at the level of the Tensor Cores in order to reduce its performance in AI calculation, and thus fall below the maximum level of performance tolerated by the United States to authorize a sale to China. Thus, the RTX 5090 D is simply the Chinese version of the RTX 5090, and it too will therefore not offer a Founders Edition reference design.

The diagram is therefore perfectly identical to that existing for the GeForce RTX 40, but it is in the creation of the FE designs that things have changed. With its multiple PCB design, NVIDIA has managed to make GeForce RTX 5090 FE et GeForce RTX 5080 FE double slot, therefore only 4 cm thick when the GeForce RTX 4090 FE and GeForce RTX 4080 (SUPER) FE were all triple slot. Let us also remember that the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 consume more than their predecessors, which is excellent news for those who do not have a lot of space in their case, even if we will now have to wait for the tests to check if all of this is correct. is not paid at the price of greater noise pollution on the new generation.
