Specializing in the construction of translation-related devices, Timekettle unveils its latest headphones at CES 2025.
The rise of artificial intelligence finds its concrete applications, particularly in the field of the translation. Recently, this technology has been integrated into products like Samsung’s Z Flip 6 or its Galaxy Buds headphones.
Other companies, such as Timekettlehave made it the heart of their activity. Active since 2016, Timekettle perfects its translation system with the release of its new headphones W4 Pro AI.
An automatic translation
Specialized in translation, these headphones recognize 40 different languages and are triggered automaticallywithout user intervention. Spotted by TechCrunch during CES 2025, the media specifies that a latency of approximately three to five seconds is necessary for the device to perform the translation.
Timekettle claims that this new feature works with “any communications app or traditional phone system”all “without disturbing the quality of the original voice”.
Running with a named operating system Babelsystem allows translations with customizable lexicons and is capable of translating “human emotions and tones”specify Timekettle. TechCrunch Note, however, that the translated audio is louder than the original audio.
These headphones also have an AI-related functionality to provide a summary of the conversation.
A shared translation
Unlike other systems requiring two devices to allow interaction between two people who do not speak the same language, the W4 Pro shares a functionality with their previous models: it is possible to share an earphone with another person to obtain translations during a face to face conversation.
Available from Sunday on their site, the W4 Pro will be on sale for $449.
