Patrik Laine and David Savard will still be absent this evening

This evening, the Canadian is finally back at the Bell Centre, as he welcomes the Vancouver Canucks.

The big question was whether Patrik Laine and David Savard were going to be back…

But that won’t be the case. Both guys will be missing again tonight.

In the case of Savard, his upper body injury therefore seems a little more serious than initially thought. It’s unclear what the exact nature of this injury is, but hopefully it’s not too serious.

However, the case of Laine is perhaps even more particular. We know that he is bothered by flu symptoms, but he has been dealing with them since last Friday. CH’s condensed schedule means that he will have missed three games… and since the team does not play again before Friday, we can think that we gave him a little more time to be 100%. this weekend. If he is still absent on Friday, however, it will be worrying.

In front of the net, Samuel Montembeault will be back in the role of starting goalie. Jakub Dobes, who did well on Saturday, could have earned the start… but with two games in two nights this weekend (the Capitals on the road Friday night and the Stars at the Bell Center Saturday night), it’s only ‘a matter of time before Dobes gets another start.

I expect to see Dobes in net on Friday.

We will therefore see if CH will be able to offer another big performance this evening, when they will be back in front of their fans. However, he will have to do it without Patrik Laine and David Savard… but that did not prevent him from getting there against the Avalanche.

Let us also remember that if CH wins this evening, the club will go to bed this evening being in the top-8 in the East. And being in the top-8 in the East means that the club would be in a position to make the playoffs… for the moment, at least.
