MiniLED technology takes a new step forward with the Hisense 116UX, a television that shakes up the cards for home display. This 116-inch diagonal panel introduces a new approach to backlighting, called RGB Local Dimming.
The Hisense brand took advantage of the CES 2025 show to announce its very large television, the 116UX with a diagonal of 116 inches. It competes with the 115-inch Samsung QN90 also presented at the show. Technically, this new model seems impressive not only because of its size, but also because it integrates a lighting system which abandons the traditional configuration combining blue LEDs and quantum filters.
Instead, tens of thousands of optical lenses directly integrate red, green and blue LEDs. This architecture makes it possible to achieve very broad coverage of the BT.2020 color space, exceeding the performance of current OLED technologies, according to the brand.
Performance and image processing
The Hi-View AI Engine X processor is at the heart of the TV and handles the image processing. It orchestrates the entire system, optimizing each image in real time. Brightness peaks at 10,000 cd/m², according to Hisense, setting a new industry benchmark. In addition, according to Hisense, the precise control of the LEDs makes it possible to significantly reduce the blooming effect, while reducing energy consumption and blue light emissions by 38%. The television is Dolby Vision IQ (with light sensor) and IMAX Enhanced compatible.
The screen integrates a 6.2.2 channel audio system compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual X. The anti-reflective treatment ensures optimal visibility even in bright environments. With a thickness of less than 40 millimeters, the TV maintains a sleek silhouette with 38 mm of thickness.
Availability and price of the Hisense 116UX TV
The Hisense 116UX is expected on the market from the third quarter of 2025 for a price of 25,000 euros.
