To ensure the safety of the entire home, placing a smoke detector is essential in a home. And if it’s connected, it’s even more practical. The model designed by Aqara is, and at the moment, Amazon is offering it at 37.99 euros instead of 44.99 euros.
The installation of smoke detectors has been compulsory in all homes for several years, but while most homes are satisfied with a classic model, others choose to opt for a connected detector, capable, for example, of send real-time alerts to the user’s smartphone. It’s still more practical and reassuring. If this type of reference interests you, know that the model offered by Aqara is a complete solution priced at less than 40 euros.
What does the Aqara smoke detector promise?
- An 85 dB siren + an LED indicator
- Compatibility with Matter
- Sending notifications and creating personalized alerts
Initially priced at 44.99 euros, the Aqara connected smoke detector is now available on sale for 37.99 euros on Amazon.
A smoke detector that leaves nothing to chance
The intelligent smoke detector created by Aqara looks… like a classic smoke detector: round, white, discreet. Like any good model of this type, it is capable of broadcasting a shrill siren, here of 85 dB more precisely, to alert you even if you are asleep, for example. An LED indicator has also been integrated by the brand. In terms of autonomy, the detector has a lifespan of 10 years, according to Aqara.
But where this smoke detector differs from other standard models is obviously in its connected aspect. Indeed, it must be connected to your Wi-Fi network and linked to the Aqara Home application, as well as to an Aqara Hub Zigbee 3.0 bridge, essential to benefit from several features and a long range (but unfortunately not supplied here…). Once done, you will have access to a host of very practical options, such as multi-device grouping, which allows for example to link several smoke detectors of the brand and have them trigger simultaneously as soon as one of them they detect danger.
-Multiple compatibility
Thanks to its connected side, the Aqara smoke detector can also monitor live smoke levels in your home and send real-time notifications to warn you instantly. On the app, you can even create custom automations and alerts.
Finally, if you have the hub required for this detector, it can be compatible with Matter, and therefore connect to many third-party ecosystems. The detector is also compatible with Home Assistant, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings and HomeKit; suffice to say that controlling your smoke detector by voice can be child’s play.
