Affordable laptops are about to get more efficient: New Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors for systems under $600

We’ve recently lamented the disappearance of inexpensive laptops with today’s processor technology. With Intel and AMD trying to sell their old processors in lower-end devices and focusing on new, more expensive chips like Intel Lunar Lake and AMD Strix Point, it seemed like buying an affordable laptop meant people had to living with outdated and inefficient technology.

Qualcomm, however, seems to have a different idea. Last year, the big boss of the smartphone processor market launched the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite for high-end laptops, followed by the Snapdragon X Plus for mid-range machines. Now, a new processor series called simply “Snapdragon The target: PCs that cost less than $600.

Despite the targeted price range, consumers will have little to no compromise with the Snapdragon X series processor.
