Game Pass 2025 Quests: big new features for Rewards, here's what's changing | Xbox

After modifying its Rewards program by notably reducing the scope and the gains obtained via it, Microsoft has decided to attack the year 2025 with significant modifications concerning Game Pass quests. Here is the list of new features and changes.

Game Pass quests are coming to PC

Previously exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members, quests are coming to Game Pass members on PC starting January 7, 2025.

In addition to quests on consoles and phones, you now have more opportunities to earn reward points on PC. Here's how to access it.

  • 1. Browse the new Quests by navigating to your Xbox profile and going to the Rewards Center, available on console, in the Xbox app on mobile, or in the Xbox app on Windows PC.
  • 2. Earn points : Play your favorite Game Pass games.
  • 3. Claim your points : Go to the Rewards Center.

Once you've earned enough, you'll be able to redeem your points for Xbox gift cards to use toward purchasing games, in-game content, donations, and more.

As part of these changes, a minimum playing time is required to earn points while playing. For now, quests are only available for titles in the Game Pass catalog, and that doesn't include PC games that require third-party launchers or are played on Battle.net.

New Game Pass quests are available

Xbox is launching new quests for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members. Good news, the weekly series (Weekly Streaks) are back after they were withdrawn in March 2024, causing general discontent. Here is the list of daily, weekly and monthly Game Pass quests.

  • Daily Game : Earn 10 points per day by playing any game in the Game Pass catalog for at least 15 minutes.
  • Weekly Series : Play at least five days a week to complete your streak. Maintain your streak over several weeks to unlock point multipliers (2x for a 2-week streak, 3x for 3 weeks, etc.).
  • Monthly Pack 4 Games : Play four different games (at least 15 minutes each) each month.
  • Monthly Pack 8 Games : Play eight different games (at least 15 minutes each) each month. The 4 games in your Pack 4 also count for Pack 8.

A new Rewards bonus on PC and a rebalancing

Xbox is launching a new weekly bonus on PC that grants you 150 points after playing (for at least 15 minutes) for 5 days or more. In addition, these new features are accompanied by a rebalancing of the points of the current weekly bonus on console to 150 points and the daily game on PC to 10 points.

Note that the ability to earn Rewards points through gameplay is now limited to Xbox players aged 18 or older. The Rewards Center will therefore no longer be accessible to players under the age of 18.

Players under 18 will still be able to earn Microsoft Rewards points through parent-approved purchases on the Microsoft Store, qualifying searches on Microsoft Bing, and other non-gameplay activities. Previously earned Rewards will remain available.
