The announcement was made by the Ajaccio public prosecutor's office, via a press release sent to the press at the end of the day, this Wednesday, December 25.

“This evening, around 6 p.m., the accused took himself prisoner at the Ajaccio police station”indicates prosecutor Nicolas Septe.

And to add concerning this man in his forties: “He will be placed in police custody by judicial police officers, with the conduct of hearings and investigations continuing under the authority of an investigating magistrate from the Ajaccio judicial court.”

As a reminder, on the evening of Monday December 23, shots were fired inside the Lamparo, an establishment in downtown Ajaccio.

Among the seven people injured, one of them died the next day in hospital. Some of the other six, whose lives are no longer in danger, are still hospitalized.

The prosecution had opened a criminal investigation on charges of “attempted murder” and “murder”.
