FaceID on your door: this is what the doorbells designed by Apple would look like

As you hear it: Apple would work on a door bell which would use Face ID, the facial recognition technology built into the iPhone and iPad.

This is what asserts Mark Gurman in its newsletter, Power On. According to the journalist, Apple's smart doorbell would work similarly to the iPhone. By simply looking at it, it would recognize our face and automatically unlock the door. The doorbell would integrate the Secure Enclave chip, responsible for storing and processing the information collected by Face ID.

According to Gurman, this device could be compatible with third-party smart locks in addition to using the system HomeKit Secure Video. This technology uses the end-to-end encryption in order to protect your recordings, which would be stored in iCloud.

Other rumors indicate that Apple may collaborate with a company specializing in smart locks to offer a “complete system from day one.” The Bloomberg journalist also points out that Apple's lock camera could use the highly anticipated chip ” Proxima », which would combine Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Apple's doorbell would compete with other devices like Amazon's Ring doorbells and in particular, the Ring Video Doorbell.
