Asus Unveils New Affordable V16 Gaming Laptop at CES 2025

Asus V16 has made its official debut as a new budget gaming laptop ahead of CES 2025. As described by the company, it is designed to deliver powerful performance while being in the entry-level segment. So while the price hasn't been explicitly revealed, it could be around $1,000.

As for the specifications, the Asus V16 may be equipped with a non-Ultra Intel Core 7. As we've already mentioned, this non-Ultra 100 series is simply a second refresh of the Raptor Lake line. It is primarily intended to go against the rumored AMD Hawk Point, which is expected to launch in the form of the non-AI Ryzen 200 series non-AI Ryzen 200 series.

However, when it comes to the GPU, the Asus V16 2024 is equipped with the Nvidia RTX 4050 Laptop GPU. It's not the highest-performing gaming GPU on the market, but Asus likely chose it over the higher-performing RTX 4060 Laptop to keep the price low.

To ensure stable performance under heavy loads, the V16's CPU and GPU are paired with an advanced cooling system, which Asus says has dual cooling fans and multiple heat pipes. Unlike the Lunar Lake options, this gaming laptop has upgradeable memory, with support for up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM running at 5,600MHz.

The screen is another strong point of this gaming laptop. The Asus V16 is equipped with a 16-inch display with FHD resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. With a screen-to-body ratio of 89% , it aims to deliver an immersive visual experience, while Dirac audio technology combined with Audio Booster aims to deliver immersive sound.

Other highlights of this gaming laptop include a large touchpad, MIL-STD-810H rating, and a comfort-focused design. We don't yet know when the Asus V16 will be available for sale, but if you're looking for something similar, take a look at the HP Victus 15 (the i7 12650H-equipped variant currently costs $799.99 at Best Buy).
