Kali Linux 2024.4 launches with GNOME 47 and Python 3.12, but no longer supports 32-bit kernel

Maintained and funded by Offensive Securitykali Linux, based on Debian, is back with a new update. The list of 600+ penetration testing tools just got 14 new tools in Kali Linux 2024.4, but it can also be considered a milestone release since it drops support for 32-bit kernels and images.

In addition to the above, Kali Linux version 2024.4 also contains the following:

  • Updated to Python 3.12, with pip replaced by pipx for installing third-party packages.
  • Raspberry Pi image customization support.
  • GNOME 47 with the Kali team’s work on syncing accent color customization with the icon theme and legacy GTK window themes.
  • No less than 14 new tools, including chainsaw, findomain, proximoth, sara, zenmap, and more.
  • Kali NetHunter gets an installer, application, kernel, and store update, as well as a website update.

Kali NetHunter is now providing Android 15 for the first device so far, which happens to be the Xiaomi Mi A3. The Pro version now offers Hijacker and NetHunter applications.
