Connected home: three products planned by Apple in 2025

A first connected screen for home automation… but not only that!

In a recent blog post, 9to5Mac also points out that three products should arrive next year, starting with something new: a connected screen, potentially called HomePad.

Mark Gurman recently spoke about a screen to hang on the wall to control his connected home automation products, make video calls or even “use AI to navigate apps”. Apple Intelligence would also be there, with a supercharged Siri.

However, we would not be on a giant slab, with a diagonal of only 6 inches. “It’s about the size of two iPhones side by side, with a thick bezel around the screen”explained the journalist from Bloomberg.

Note, it would not work on mains, but on battery like an iPad. We would also find a front camera and a speaker.

On the software side, Apple could opt for a version derived from iOS/iPadOS. We would also be entitled to widgets similar to StandBy mode on iPhone or even a carousel mode to view images stored in Photos.

For the launch period, nothing is certain yet. Mark Gurman is working on March 2025, alongside the iPhone SE 4, while Ming-Chi Kuo is banking on the second half of next year.

A new Apple 4K and a second HomePod mini

2025 would also mark the introduction of a fourth iteration of the Apple TV 4K. Succeeding the 2022 version under the A18 Bionic chip, the latter would opt for the A18 or the A17 Pro in order to be able to offer boosted features to Apple Intelligence.

As a bonus, Apple would implement an in-house wifi and Bluetooth chip. “It is likely that Apple will also support new TV display technologies”adds 9to5Mac.

The HomePod mini 2 would also be introduced next year, almost five years after its first iteration. Here too, the objective would be to improve connectivity with in-house chips for wifi and Bluetooth. Apple Intelligence could also pull a head, potentially with Siri on steroids.

But the company could also take a different approach by making the HomePod mini 2 integrate more closely with your iPhone or other devices like the HomePad. 9to5Mac

These two products do not currently have a defined release window. The coming months should logically tell us more on this subject.

In the meantime, we know that the success of the HomePad could bring us another home automation product from Apple: a surveillance camera.
