From opening its first establishment in 2016, Locke has sixteen in the United Kingdom and Europe including six in London, one in Cambridge, one in Manchester without forgetting that of the Scottish capital Edinburgh. Two apartment hotels are located in Munich in Germany and in Dublin in Ireland. Finally, Germany with Berlin and Munich, Switzerland with Zurich, Portugal with Lisbon and soon France with Paris have a Locke establishment.
Their concept is based on the aparthotel which refers to a apartment offering boutique hotel services.
Locke arrives in Paris
The Glass Garden by Locke, the 17th property of the groupwill be located on rue de Lacépède, in the dynamic 5th arrondissement, a stone’s throw from the Panthéon, the Jardin des Plantes and the Sorbonne University.
The Glass Garden by Locke counts 145 rooms divided into 11 categories, including two prestigious suites – the Bégonia Suite and the Penthouse Suite. The establishment also has a gym, a yoga studio, a chic bistro café, a magnificent interior courtyard for fresh dining, a spectacular “triple height” restaurant, in the atrium, with bar, terrace and cocktail bar!
A historic residence illuminated and planted with plants
The site, rich in history, integrates elements of its past into its design. The current building results from the merger of two 16th century mansions and a 19th century industrial factory. Visitors will enter through a former Parisian residence from the 18th centurylocated on a street once known for its public gardens.
The visual concept of the Jardin de Verre by Locke, designed by le studio de design Fettle based in London and Los Angeles, is inspired by this connection with nature, with a abundant interior greenery and maximization of light natural thanks to the atrium.
The property’s main entrance subtly incorporates shades of green on the walls and ceiling, with natural terracotta flooring complemented by colorful contemporary furniture and lush foliage. A palette of natural and traditional materialsincluding stone, terracotta and wood, contrast with the building’s industrial influences, such as concrete columns and original metal elements.
True to the spirit of Locke in terms of design, the playful color palettes, furniture and lighting take inspiration from the brand’s visionary approach. In the entrance courtyard, yellow striped banquettes, rattan chairs, patterned green parasols, string lights and outdoor lanterns create an atmosphere that is both sophisticated and dynamic. The atrium terrace, with its grass floor and colorful furniture, immerses visitors in a romantic and intimate atmosphere.
Bright, sophisticated and warm interiors
For the atrium restaurant and bar, hotel design studio Fettle chose vibrant tones of pink, orange and red, with two oversized custom made chandeliersadding a touch of glamour.
The rooms, designed by edyn’s in-house team, reflect the stylistic diversity of three eras – 18th century townhouse, mid-20th century industrial era and 21st century hotel.
The specifics of the design haussmannian, such as dark oak parquet floors and floor-to-ceiling windows, contrast with the kitchen’s industrial stainless steel elements and expressive textile patterns. Furniture and accessories varied in style and material create a welcoming and elegant environment.
