The assistance granted is paid through the Investment Fund of the MRC of Deux-Montagnes which offers the possibility of obtaining financing of up to $250,000 to help a business at any stage of a project that she wants to lead.
In the case of the Nostra Studio Company, chaired by Éric Sarrazin, his project is to develop an interactive online application to play the role-playing game “Wars & Quests” which was marketed in 2001. This investment should make it possible to create eight or nine to jobs in digital art and technology development.
“By supporting such a project, it helps stimulate creativity, community ties, but also intergenerational socialization. I believe that the “Wars & Quests” platform offers a safe space where young people and adults alike can share fun and stimulating experiences and have fun. All of this contributes to a very dynamic living environment, but above all it brings fulfillment which is collective,” indicated Raphaëlle Viau, business advisor at the MRC of Deux-Montagnes, in a video filmed on the sidelines of the presentation of this financial assistance.
It hopes that the Nostra Studio Company, with this project, can position itself as a leader in the digital games community, “while highly displaying the values and colors of the MRC of Deux-Montagnes”.
History and projects
Created by Éric Sarrazin in the 1990s, around thirty years ago, the role-playing game “Wars & Quests” was successful in the immediate region, giving birth to a publishing house called Les Créations Guerres & Quêtes , tournaments, an association and even a medieval festival in Saint-Eustache which, at its first edition, in 1998, attracted some 6,000 people.
Winner, last March, of a prize in the “Technological and technical innovations” category during the 2024 edition of the local component of the OSEntreprendre Challenge organized by the MRC of Deux-Montagnes, the Nostra Studio Company now aspires to expand the universe of “Wars & Quests” on other platforms: immersive video game, books, audio books, comics, television shows, films, board game which will address a new more family clientele and interactive application whose main use will be to play online role-playing games.
