With Windows 11, Microsoft has completely redesigned the Start menu. From now on, it is presented in three parts: a search engine, one dedicated to pinned applications and a last one for recommendations. This is not really appreciated by users, but fortunately, it will soon be improved.

Recommendations display the most recently used files, installed files, and sometimes related applications. However, the advice given by Windows is often limited to that and in the end, we do not use it. Worse, we don’t even pay attention to it anymore. Things should change soon in a future update.

Windows 11 will improve its recommendations

Windows Latest specifies that the next version of Windows, KB5048753, will greatly improve this aspect, by putting more emphasis on applications likely to be used in addition to websites. The site was able to test this Update via the Insider program and indicates that the advice is now much better and more refined.

The current recommendation system

For the moment, the date of deployment for the general public has not yet been announced, but it should happen soon. Microsoft has indicated that the recommendations will not disappear, but that they will continue to be improved in the future. Too bad for those who wanted to save a little space in this Start menu. Another upcoming new feature: online and local search will soon be separated. This will make it easier to find a file or program on your computer, without having the websites found by Bing in your results.

Windows 11 therefore continues to be refined little by little. As a reminder, Windows 11 was launched in 2021. In 2025, it could see the arrival of its successor, Windows 12, which would be entirely focused on artificial intelligence. However, this should not mark the end of it, since the support should continue at least until 2031.
