The Fitbit Charge 5 is a relevant update of the Charge 4. Its smaller screen has the advantage of being in color, and its rounded shapes make it a little more elegant for everyday wear. The device loses some options present on the previous model, notably Spotify control or measurement of floors climbed, but this is compensated by the multiple new health-related functions. Sports tracking, limited in terms of activities, is rather precise, and its GPS has a minimal margin of error. In short, the Charge 5 constitutes an interesting option for those seeking above all to collect data related to their activity and well-being, but will frustrate those who want to use it for daily functions (music, or even payment, few banks being supported)… and even more, those who do not wish to subscribe to Fitbit Premium, the application being almost essential to take advantage of the full potential of the bracelet.
NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude the prices of stores whose the VAT policy is not clear (so-called “gray” stores, typically in the case of imports from China).
An alternative
The Band 7 is a slight evolution of the Band 6 and gains, for example, Always-on Display mode. It retains the simplicity of use and the beautiful screen which were the strong points of the previous version, and ranks as excellent value for money among activity sensors.
