While GOG and Epic Games are already offering their end-of-year sales, Valve is still remaining discreet on the subject. However, the official-looking promotional artwork and video that appears to be associated with the Steam Winter Sale 2024 has just surfaced. According to them, the sale will begin on December 19.
This date matches what is reported by SteamDB, a third-party Steam database. The database lists this date in the “Upcoming Events” section and reveals the possible start time: 18:00 UTC. Of course, the official time could be changed, but this is unlikely to happen as data pulled from SteamDB tends to be accurate.
As for the end date, the alleged promotional poster suggests that the Steam Winter Sale 2024 will end on January 2 at 6:00 p.m. UTC. This means that game deals will remain active for two weeks, which is a bit shorter than the 2024 Christmas Sale which is happening on the Epic Games Store.
Even GOG’s winter sale is comparatively longer, starting on December 12 and ending on January 3 at 8:00 UTC. Coming back to the upcoming Steam event, the leaked promotional video suggests that quite a few popular games will get a decent discount.
