The first Path of Exile patch is already available and big changes are coming this week!

The early access of Path of Exile 2 landed on December 6 and it was a thunderous success. Despite its early access status and therefore not always perfect in all places, the game from Grinding Gear Games has already attracted more than 1 million players and wishes to bring back more by establishing itself as the new reference of the genre.

After a complicated but successful launch for the developers due to the number of players who wanted to enter the servers, the GGG team has not finished satisfying its players and continues to work hard on the game, since in-game changes have already appeared and a bigger patch whose content we already know will take place this week!

Changes have already taken place in-game, and you may not have noticed

PoE 2 made many players react to some negative points, including the lack of loot, bodyblocking, and many others; GGG intends to remedy this over time, and have announced the in-game changes that took place last night.

Mobs rares

  • The loot rarity bonus based on the number of modifiers on a rare mob has been doubled.
  • +10% loot quantity per modifier on a rare mob.
  • Rare mobs will have more and more modifiers, the more you progress in the endgame.

Resources / Currencies

  • Royal Orbs drop rate increased by 40%.
  • Disenchanting rare items at 6 mods now grants 2 Royal Shards instead of 1.
  • Jeweler's Orbs (Tier 1) drop rate increased by +33%.
  • The drop rate of Chaos Orbs has decreased slightly, causing the drop rate of Exalted Orbs to increase.
  • Lapidary Prisms drop rate increased by 500%, and increases gem quality by 5% instead of 1%.

Map modifiers

  • Mod rarity increased by 2.5x.
  • Some bottom tier mods have been removed.

Anti-bad luck loot protection

  • No more than 50% of a Unique mob's loot can only be Gold.
  • All Act and Map bosses will at least give a Rare item.

A bigger patch starting this week!

All of these changes above are already in the game and it's not over, as GGG also indicated many more important changes coming this week (no exact date yet).

Dodge

  • It will be possible to roll and get out of packs of certain small monsters, such as Keth's scarabs.
  • Your character size has been changed to 0 units when you roll instead of 1 unit.

These changes will cause us less body blockingalthough this could still happen, but much less frequently!

Checkpoints

  • Clicking on a spawn point can allow you to teleport on another that you have already discovered on the map.
  • New spawn points have been added to the start and end of each area.
  • A new spawn point has been added in the middle of the first Battleship area.

Maps en endgame

  • Rare monsters now appear on your minimap when there are less than 200 monsters in total (instead of 50)
  • Many maps have seen new rare mobs added.

Changes expected by many players, all positive, which only improve the already excellent experience we have with Path of Exile 2!
