While Nintendo is very silent, the internet is panicking over this Chinese video which presents the joy-cons of the Nintendo Switch 2

An imminent announcement?

Only a few months left before the announcement of the Switch 2, in any case, that's what all the clues suggest. It must be said that we have been waiting for too long for the successor to the Nintendo console, long considered old-fashioned but above all much too weak to accommodate triple A. While everyone has their own opinion on the subject, some Rumors are gaining popularity on the Chinese social network Weibo and the Famiboards site. According to an unconfirmed report, the console could be revealed as early as January and released on sale from March 2025. “I got some information from a source who was right on several occasions. He notably disclosed the OLED model of the Switch, Mario & Luigi Brothership, the August Indie World, the Nintendo Partner Showcase and much more,” we could read on the platform from an anonymous source.

In any case, this would correspond well to the end of the company's fiscal year as well as the very rare official mentions of this console from Nintendo. However, we still have no visual from the Japanese or even concrete clues concerning its future capabilities, apart from the famous dev kits which would have been distributed already 2 years ago. It is actually towards the Chine which you have to go to see the new design of the machine and in particular its joycons.

A first joycon video?

Once again, it is to a Chinese social network that we will have to turn to learn more about the Nintendo Switch 2. On Bilibili, an Internet user posted a video of what would be the joycons of the new console. The extract is almost completely blurry but gives a glimpse of the most interesting thing. The controllers appear to have infrared sensors (on the left and right Joy-Con) and larger edge buttons.

This matches previous leaks, which suggested magnetic Joy-Con and a more complex controller layoutwhile maintaining a design similar to that of the first version of the console. In the original video, we also see very briefly the portable console which appears to be the same size. Please note that if the machine appears to be white in colorthis does not mean that it will be marketed as is. The dev kits for the first Nintendo Switch were, for example, black before blue and red came to dress the console.

However, you must remain very careful. The blurry quality of the video suggests that it could be fake and show a version of the console built from previous leaks. As Internet users point out, these joycons could have been made with a simple 3D printer. However, if this idea is verified, then perhaps this cheap aspect is voluntary on the part of Nintendo, which prefers to save its resources for the real Nintendo Switch 2.
