– A very popular new feature is coming to Google Maps!
The functionality was mentioned at the end of the summer… it is now active on the application! Both properties of the giant Google, Waze and Google Maps have more and more things in common. THE reports made on Waze are now visible on Google Maps, Le Journal du Geek tells us. As the Mountain View firm mentioned this summer, “Google Maps will display reports from our drivers with attribution to Waze directly in the app”.
This has been the case since the end of November, our colleagues noted. Thus, reporting a police presence on a road made on Waze is directly sent to Google Maps. “Police officers were spotted here by Waze users. Are they still there?”is it written in a message that appears on the application. The Google Maps user can then respond with «oui» or by «non».

New features on Google Maps and Waze
A new winning feature for both applications, because Waze remains one of the leaders in the community GPS segment (150 million users worldwide) while Google Maps is used by two billion people. So, Google Maps has new security alertswhen Waze can count on the activity of Google Maps aficionados. This summer, Google also indicated that its flagship navigation application would review its interface in order to be more simplified.
Until now, to confirm an accident for example, a motorist using Google Maps often had to have their eyes glued to their screen. The idea now being to “confirm the incident with a simple tap to help passing drivers”Google said. For his part, Waze launched a new feature allowing you to navigate “lock screen”while traffic jams were more detailed. Finally, at the beginning of November, Waze announced the development of conversational reporting, allowing motorists to describe a report orally.
