Face ID to connect with FranceConnect: the government simplifies authentication

When you first open the new France Identity, which Numerama was able to test by registering for the beta program, the application calls for activating FranceConnect authentication by scanning your identity card. Once this step has been completed, the authentications will work each time with a Face ID scan (or with its code). There will no longer be a need to scan your card.
Then, from any site supporting FranceConnect, simply choose the France Identity option and scan a QR code from the application. The connection will be immediate, without physical action.
The only incompatibility is the FranceConnect+ service, which still requires a physical identity card for security reasons (it is notably necessary to access the credits in your training account). Fortunately, the majority of public services only use FranceConnect.
How to register for the France Identity beta?
If you are impatient, it is possible to register for the France Identity beta now. To access it, go to this TestFlight link from an iPhone or to this Play Store link from an Android terminal. If there are places left (which is not guaranteed), you should have access to them.
