Rumors and leaks are becoming more and more insistent about the release of a new dedicated graphics card from Intel. The Arc B580 with Battlemage architecture will therefore follow the Arc A580 (Alchemist) released in October 2023.

The leaks give a more precise overview of the GPU embedded in the Arc B580 since there would be no less than 20 Xe2 units, a unit already seen in the Lunar Lake processors of the manufacturer's laptops. The G21, code name of the GPU in this configuration, would be accompanied by no less than 12 GB of GDDR6 type video memory. A reasonable choice with more than 8 GB which seems a bit fair for the targeted segment and less than 16 GB to save some money.
On the power side, the first visuals of the Asrock cards confirm the use of a single 8-pin connector. The entire card will therefore be able to use a maximum of 225 W, 75 via the PCIe port and 150 W via the power supply.

GeForce RTX 4060 performance
As for performance, the first benchmarks seen only concern the GPU's synthetic calculation capabilities. Thus, in the OpenCL test of Geekbench 6.2, the Arc B580 would obtain a score of 97943 points, as much as a GeForce RTX 4060 from Nvidia.
In game, the results should be more nuanced. We saw this during the Lunar Lake test: while the synthetic performance of Intel GPUs is excellent in synthetic benchmarks and even in 3DMark depending on the games, performance can fluctuate. In particular, young graphics drivers whose compatibility Intel continues to gradually improve. A long-term project that began a little over 2 years ago while the competition has been refining this point for over 20 years.
Intel will, however, be able to count on its scaling technology competing with Nvidia's DLSS, which has just crossed the threshold of 200 compatible games, to improve the performance of its GPU.

Intel's Arc B580 should, according to leaks from several resellers, have a price around $250; with the current euro/dollar rate and the addition of VAT, we should find models below 300 euros in France, enough to overshadow AMD's Radeon RX 7600 and Nvidia's GeForce RTX 4060 .
