Conventional wisdom says it’s best never to deal with Nintendo’s lawyers. Now the company is trying to uncover the hackers’ data through the court.

Here’s what we know

In the fall, it was already known that the company had managed to identify the “hacker” James “Archbox” Williams. The company filed a lawsuit against Williams over hacking allegations.

Subsequently, Nintendo became aware of other pirates illegally distributing the company’s products.

Today, Nintendo is seeking a court order to obtain business records from Name Cheap, Go Daddy, and Tucows, as well as Cloudflare, Github, Discord, Google, and Reddit, in order to identify alleged accomplices of Williams and file a lawsuit for copyright infringement.

So never pirate or distribute illegal Nintendo content.
