new cold shower for the PS5 Pro patch

Although planned to be one of the games optimized for the PS5 Pro when the console is released, Alan Wake 2 seems to encounter some problems at this level.

Currently one of the most beautiful games to date, Alan Wake 2 was awaiting the arrival of the PS5 Pro to present itself in its best guise on console. Remedy has undertaken significant upstream work in this regard. But, since the release of the latter, this beautiful story seems to experience undesirable twists and turns that the studio had not necessarily anticipated in its script.

Lack of inspiration for Alan Wake 2 on PS5 Pro

The arrival of the PS5 Pro definitely does not look like a long, quiet river. Among the fifty games announced as being specifically optimized for Sony’s latest console, many report significant performance problems. Same observation regarding games benefiting from the famous Game Boost. Alan Wake 2 unfortunately falls into the first category. Holder of the famous “PS5 Pro Enhanced” label, Remedy’s game conversely seems to offer a particularly unstable experience on said console.

While Alan Wake 2 recently received a new update on all platforms, the expected fixes on the PS5 Pro version are unfortunately absent. Remedy is aware of the disappointment of console owners and accompanies the announcement of the patch with a message that is intended to be reassuring. “ The PS5 update does not include anything specific to the PS5 Pro. However, we wanted to let you know that we have taken note of your feedback. So we’re still looking for ways to improve performance on Pro. The work on the console is the fruit of many months of work. It will therefore take more than a few weeks for the changes to take effect. Thank you for your understanding ».

Alan Wake 2 from Remedy is unfortunately not the only game to prove recalcitrant on PS5 Pro. Dragon’s Dogma 2, Silent Hill 2 Remake and Star Wars Jedi Survivor, yet games also labeled “PS5 Pro Enhanced” for example also experience significant failures on this one. So much so that, on the Silent Hill 2 side, Bloober Team took a radical step by deactivating the exclusive “revolutionary” technology that is PSSR… in favor of TSR, its equivalent integrated into Unreal Engine 5. A not very rosy first assessment therefore seems to continue to get worse for Sony’s latest console.
