STALKER 2 attracts too many curious players to Chernobyl, Ukraine sounds the alarm

In a statement, Ukrainian border guards said that many adventurers who tried to enter the area were video game enthusiasts. We can logically make the link with the new game from GSC Game World.

“It was found that a considerable number of adventurers who attempted to illegally enter the forbidden zone in search of thrills were video game enthusiasts. The exclusion zone is an area closed to the public and subject to intense radioactive contamination. Illegal entry and stay in this area are subject to administrative and criminal sanctions. »

According to figures released by Ukrainian border guards, nearly 120 foreigners were arrested for illegally entering the area in 2021, just before Russia's invasion.

A source within the border guards also told AFP that since the start of the war in February 2022, the number “has decreased”, “but there are still some”.

“These are mainly Ukrainians who wanted to visit the Chernobyl zone and walk in places where it is forbidden to walk”

While it was once possible to visit the area with a guide, it is now completely off-limits to tourists due to the war in Ukraine.

Rather than taking risks, we can only advise you to venture into the Zone in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The title integrated Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass from its launch.
