Samsung launches its free cloud gaming service for Galaxy devices

No need to have the best smartphone on the market to run mobile games in the best conditions. Indeed, the cloud gaming platform of Samsung comes out of beta and arrives on all devices Galaxy. This is a significant change in the way we access mobile games.

A new way to play mobile games thanks to Samsung cloud gaming

Samsung officially launches its platform cloud gamingcurrently in North America. After an open beta phase launched last year, the platform now allows users of Galaxy devices to instantly play native Android games without downloading and with reduced latency. The Korean giant intends to make mobile gaming as accessible as streaming movies or music, in a context where more than 2 billion players use mobile devices around the world.

At the same time, Samsung is responding to a major challenge faced by game publishers: optimizing player acquisition in an ecosystem where 80% of downloads are linked to advertising campaigns. These campaigns, while effective in attracting attention, suffer from low conversion rates. Less than 5% of ad clicks result in an installation and first play session, often due to complex installation and permissions processes on app stores.

When a player clicks on an ad for a compatible Android game, they can now start playing in seconds directly from the Galaxy Store, without downloading or configuration. A mechanism which, according to Samsung, makes it possible to significantly improve the performance of advertising campaigns: during the beta phase, the click conversion rate in the first session reached 50%, an improvement ten times greater than the average of the industry.

In one year, the use of this platform resulted in a 149% increase in monthly active users on Galaxy devices in North America. Growth that demonstrates a change in the way players access content, while offering publishers a solution to maximize their return on advertising investment.

By eliminating the barrier to entry represented by downloading, Samsung wants to democratize mobile gaming and attract as many publishers as possible to its fold, in particular by ensuring complete compatibility with Android APK files. For Jong Woo, Vice President and Head of Gaming Services at Samsung, this innovation represents a turning point: “We believe our platform will not only transform the way Galaxy users play, but also redefine the distribution strategies of publishers in our ecosystem. »
