The Apple Watch is no longer just a connected watch. It has almost become a medical laboratory. For years, Apple has emphasized its accessory’s capabilities to measure a host of health-related parameters – with the company claiming that “it has even saved many lives.” The recent release of the Apple Watch Series 10 takes the watch to a new dimension, measuring sleep quality. I tested this device – whose starting price is 399 francs – for several days.

Unsurprisingly, the watch is thinner, lighter and more powerful than previous models, with a higher quality screen. We are going to focus on health, and start with sleep. This Apple Watch can detect sleep apnea. How? Thanks to the built-in accelerometer, “which helps recognize signs of sleep apnea by detecting subtle wrist movements that signal an interruption in normal breathing rates,” the company claims.
