Xbox: a big news for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers!

Microsoft launched a new promotional campaign last week, “This is an Xbox”, reminding us that many devices can be used to play thanks to the Game Pass Ultimate. This is a great thing for gamers, but there is a major flaw: games are catalog dependent Game Passwith regular arrivals and departures. Fortunately, Microsoft wants to go even further and now allows streaming games you own.

The feature is still in beta stage, only 50 titles are available and you obviously have to be a subscriber to Game Pass Ultimate. Furthermore, the cloud gaming from its purchase catalog is currently only available on connected TVs, web browsers, smartphones, tablets, devices Amazon FirePC and even Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro VR headsets via l’application Xbox Cloud Gaming (bêta). You will have to wait until 2025 to enjoy it on consoles Xbox et via l’application Xbox of Windows. Either way, this is great news for subscribers and here is the list of games available for streaming:

Microsoft sharing along the way a short tutorial to take advantage of this new functionality on compatible devices currently:

  1. Use a compatible browser like Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Apple Safari.
  2. Go to xbox.com/play.
  3. Sign in with your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
  4. Locate the “Resume your game” section to see titles playable with Xbox Cloud Gaming (beta).
  5. Connect a compatible controller, such as the Xbox Wireless Controller, PlayStation DualSense, or DualShock 4. On PC, some games also support keyboard and mouse.
  6. Start playing!

Download and launch the Xbox app on Samsung TVs or Amazon Fire devices or the Xbox Cloud Gaming app (beta) on Meta Quest 2, 3 or Pro headsets.

  1. Sign in with your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
  2. Find the “Resume Your Game” section to play immediately or find out which titles are playable with Xbox Cloud Gaming (beta) after purchasing them.
  3. Connect a compatible Bluetooth controller, such as the Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, DualSense and Playstation DualShock 4, they are all compatible.
  4. Play!

This should help a little to ease the recent price increase.even if resellers still allow you to subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate against the old amount: €44.99 for three months via Amazon, Cdiscount or Fnac.
