Oppo announces the launch in France of its Pad 3 Pro tablet which is an almost perfect clone of the OnePlus Pad 2.
Smartphone, watch, headphones, Oppo is making a comeback on the French market. Today, the new range is joined by a tablet. The Oppo Pad Pro 3 is a high-end model that takes on Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10+ or the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4″, but at a much lower price: 599.99 euros.
Measuring 12.1 inches, it is rather thin and light with 6.49 mm thickness and 586 g on the scale. Oppo explains that its metal chassis has dimensions inspired by an A4 sheet. The screen thus has an unusual ratio of 7:5, which can be more practical for productivity uses.
The Amoled display adopts a 3K definition (3000 x 2120 pixels), 10 bit and with an adaptive refresh rate of 144 Hz. Oppo promises high color fidelity and wide color reproduction. On the other hand, we are surprised that the maximum brightness is only 900 nits.
High-end performance
Under the hood, there is not a Snapdragon 8 Elite, but a high-end chip a notch older: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This has equipped a number of high-end smartphones in 2024 including the excellent Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Honor Magic 6 Pro. Although it is in the process of being replaced, it remains absolutely competitive.
For the version to which we are entitled in France, Oppo adds 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of storage.
The audio part is not neglected. Oppo installs eight speakers on either side of its tablet for a stereo rendering.
Same for the photo. It includes a 13-megapixel rear sensor and an 8-megapixel front sensor. Both are digitally stabilized.
In terms of autonomy, we can count on a large 9510 mAh battery. Oppo promises a standby time of 40 days, but does not specify its duration of use. A 67 Watt fast charge completes this component.
Finally, the software part is served by ColorOS 14.1, Oppo’s software based on Android 14. It comes with all the additional functions that we have already encountered on the new Find X8 Pro tested here. Among them, we find artificial intelligence functions. Like Oppo’s new smartphone, these are currently not yet available in French.
The Oppo Pad Pro 3 will be billed at 599.99 euros. It will be available only online from December 3, 2024.
Like Samsung with its Galaxy Tab Pro, Oppo offers optional accessories: a keyboard for 149.99 euros, a Pencil 2 for 99.90 euros and protection for 49.90 euros.
