TSMC plans to launch its manufacturing process into mass production 2 nm by 2025, generating considerable enthusiasm from major companies like Apple and NVIDIA.
A New Technological Shift with TSMC’s 2nm Node
The future node of 2 nm from TSMC is heralded as a true technological revolution, promising enormous improvements in performance. This new standard aims to optimize the computing capabilities of various devices in the industry.
Previous TSMC processes, including those of 3 nm et 5 nmhave already enjoyed immense success. However, it seems that the 2 nm is poised to become the undisputed leader, attracting the attention of big names in technology.
According to an update from TSMC regarding its logic technology, the 2 nm is expected to enter mass production in 2025. Additionally, it has been revealed that several customers are already in the silicon validation phases. Here’s what TSMC says about the future of 2 nm :
Major customers have completed 2nm IP design and have begun silicon validation. TSMC has also developed low-resistance redistribution layers and very high performance metal-intrusion-metal (MiM) capacitors to further improve efficiencies.
TSMC’s N2 technology will be the most advanced in the semiconductor industry in terms of density and power efficiency when introduced in 2025.

Focusing on the process 2 nmit seems that Apple is positioning itself as a key customer. The first copies of this standard could be displayed on M5 chips for Mac and future iPad models, without forgetting the next iPhone 18. In the PC sector, Intel and NVIDIA are also expected to integrate this technology. Intel could use it for its future “Nova Lake” processors, while NVIDIA would consider integrating the 2 nm in its future AI products.
