The Samsung Galaxy A56 will improve on a crucial point

The Galaxy A56 is not yet official, but the SM-A5660 model, which corresponds to the Chinese version of the smartphone, has been found in the Galaxy A56 database. China Compulsory Certificate (via SamMobile). This discovery is accompanied by good news: a maximum charging power of 10 V / 4.5 A, or a power of 45 W.

45 W charging, privilege of some models

If Samsung’s smartphones have many qualities, charging speed is not really the Korean brand’s strong point. There are a few mid-range models that go up to 45 W, but they belong to the Galaxy F and Galaxy M series, which are limited to a few Asian countries (China, India, etc.). In Europe, you have to turn to high-end models to find references that accept up to 45 W wired. The bulk of the troops remain, until now, desperately stuck at 25 W in Europe. This is the case of the Galaxy A55, for which we have noted its slow charging among the negative points.

Its successor, the Galaxy A56, would therefore erase this defect. Ironically enough, it would be ahead of the Galaxy S24 in this regard, this base model also being limited to 25 W (the Plus and Ultra versions go beyond).

A promising Exynos 1580

For the rest, this Galaxy A56 will inherit, according to previous leaks, an Exynos 1580 processor. Presented by Samsung last month, it succeeds the Eynos 1480. It is a SoC engraved in 4 nm which has 8 CPU cores (one Cortex-A720 core at 2.9 GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at 2.6 GHz and 4 cores Cortex-A520 at 1.95 GHz) and an RDNA-based Xclipse 540 GPU with 2 WGP (4 CU). On paper, it promises substantial performance gains over the Exynos 1480.

Concerning shooting, the smartphone would offer a 50 Mpx main sensor associated with a 12 Mpx ultra-wide sensor and a 5 Mpx macro module. The selfie camera would also be entitled to an upgrade.

As our colleague from SamMobileall the aforementioned changes should guarantee the Galaxy A56 real added value compared to the Galaxy A5X of previous generations. We’ll see what happens in a few months.
