Nothing is ever permanent with Microsoft’s gaming subscription. Xbox Game Pass is known for its constantly evolving video game catalog, but with these regular additions come just as many departures. Each month, the selection of titles separates from a few productions to make room for newcomers. In November, the Redmond firm spoiled its subscribers with nice additions, such as Spyro Reignited Trilogy or even Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. But unsurprisingly, this generosity also comes with quite a backlash.
On December 1st, eight games will leave the Game Pass selection until further notice, and not the least. In the list shared by the Xbox teams, we find in particular the excellent life simulation Coral Islandor the famous shooting game Remnant From The Ashes. Since its sequel, Remnant IIis available in the catalog, it is not surprising to see the previous opus disappear. Fans of narrative games will also be disappointed to learn of the departure of The Walking Dead : l’Ultime Saison from Telltale Games. How to keep the games that interest you?
If you’re a subscriber to the Ultimate or PC Game Pass plans, you’re in luck. These subscriptions allow you to benefit from a reduction of up to 20% on catalog titles. Thus, it is possible to buy the games that interest you at a reduced price before they leave the selection. Unfortunately, there is no other way to maintain access to these titles, but sometimes certain productions make a comeback, although this chance is not guaranteed.
How does Xbox Game Pass work?
As a reminder, Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service offered by Microsoft on Xbox and PC. Following the changes in formulas and increases announced last July, new console subscribers must now choose between Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (€17.99 per month), Xbox Game Pass Standard (€12.99 per month) or Xbox Game Pass Core (€6.99 per month).
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gives access to the entire catalog (day one and EA Play releases) and allows players to play on console, PC and cloud. Xbox Game Pass Standard provides access to hundreds of games (except day one releases and certain titles) and allows online play. The Xbox Game Pass Core includes more than 35 games and access to online multiplayer (this is the successor to Xbox Live Gold). Finally, Game Pass PC is now billed at €11.99 and offers access to the entire catalog as well as EA Play.
