GPD has finally lifted the veil on the prices of its highly anticipated Pocket 4, a revolutionary mini-laptop that reinvents the concept of mobility. Weighing just 770g, this hybrid device combines the functionality of a laptop, tablet and handheld device.
That’s it, we finally know that the Pocket 4 range will start at $895 for the base model, but first-time buyers will be able to benefit from a preferential rate of $829 during the IGG crowdfunding campaign. This entry-level version features an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor, equipped with eight Zen 4 cores and a Radeon 780M GPU, accompanied by 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD.
For more demanding users, the intermediate version, offered at $1,157, chooses the Ryzen AI 9 HX 365 processor. The latter integrates 10 Zen 5 cores and a Radeon 880M graphics part, coupled with 32 GB of RAM and an SSD of 2 TB. The high-end model, priced at $1,466, features the powerful Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, with its 12 Zen 5 cores and its Radeon 890M GPU, supported by up to 64 GB of RAM.

An attractive technical sheet for a mini-laptop
All models share an impressive 8.8 inch screen in definition 2.5K with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The panel offers a brightness of 500 nits and covers 97% of the DCI-P3 color space. Connectivity is not left out with the Wi-Fi 6E et le Bluetooth 5.3.
GPD also offers optional accessories: a $20 EIA RS-232 module for compatibility with older devices, and a $125 4G LTE module for mobile connectivity. Although lacking an OCuLink port, the Pocket 4 allows the use of an external GPU via USB4, practical for gamers.
While the official release date has not yet been communicated, GPD anticipates availability by the end of the year, subject to the successful completion of the crowdfunding campaign. This new model will succeed the Pocket 3, marketed more than three years ago.
