Two new heat networks in Lacrouzette were inaugurated by David Cucullières, vice-president of Trifyl and by François Bono, mayor, in the presence of Philippe Bonnecarrère, deputy, Marie-Lise Housseau, senator, Christine Bernot, regional councilor sitting in particular on the “Climate Emergency” commission and Philippe Aspar, general director of Tarn Habitat.
Trifyl, a departmental union for waste recovery, supported the commune of Lacrouzette and the community of Communes Sidobre-Vals and Plateaux in the study and construction of two heat networks powered by automatic wood-fired boiler rooms. A project that promotes clean, renewable and local energy for heating buildings
The first wood boiler room, opposite the Foyer Rural, has been operational since February. It supplies a heat network over a length of 420 meters to serve the nursing home, the public school, the nursery, as well as the rural home and the gymnasium. A project to extend to the fire station is under study.
The second heating network is located in Malous. It has been operating since October. The boiler room supplies heat to 48 social housing units (Tarn Habitat), the Malous village hall and soon the municipal workshops via a 180 m network.
The municipality has delegated its responsibility for “Production and public distribution of wood heat” to the community of Communes Sidobre Vals et Plateaux, which itself delegated it to Trifyl. There is therefore a service provision agreement established between Trify, the community of municipalities which is the user, and Lacrouzette which made available the land hosting the two wood boiler rooms. Trifyl takes care of the project management and initial investment: studies, works and operation of the heating networks, thanks to co-financing provided by the State (Ademe) and Europe via the ERDF, paid by the Occitanie region.
Trifyl is a mixed departmental union which ensures a public service mission for the management and recovery of waste. The objective is to transform waste into resources, thus contributing to a circular economy and reducing the carbon footprint. More than 90% of the heat delivered by these networks is produced by 100% Tarn forest chips, from a maximum radius of 55 km. As this resource is not sufficient, the supply is supplemented by the AgriBois-81 sector. Thus, more than 250 tonnes of CO2 will be avoided each year and greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced by 85%.
This inauguration was followed by the traditional “glass of friendship” opened by the no less traditional speeches of thanks from the different personalities. We will remember a quote from Confucius by François Bono, the mayor of Lacrouzette: “Three things never come back: time, words and opportunities. Therefore, do not waste time, choose your words and do not miss the occasion.”
The municipality of Lacrouzette did not waste its time, seized the opportunity that presented itself and thanked all those involved in choice words.
