D008: A new portable pocket console with a Nintendo 64 and PS1 emulation system

The D008 is one of three gaming handhelds that SZDiiER has introduced to China. For your information, the others are the D-28S and the D50 Plus which SZDiiER sells under its new Diium brand. Please see our corresponding articles on the D-28S and D50 Plus for more details on SZDiiER’s other new portable gaming options.

As for the D008, it looks a lot like popular alternatives like Anbernic’s RG35XX line or the Miyoo Mini Plus (currently $63.99 at Amazon). It has a 3.5-inch screen with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels and a 2,500 mAh battery. Additionally, SZDiiER mentions that the device uses a 32-bit ARM Cortex-A7 chipset, although it does not give the name of the chipset in question.

So the D008 could be about as powerful as the Miyoo Mini Plus, which has proven capable of emulating many Nintendo 64, PlayStation 1, and even some Nintendo DS games. Additionally, SZDiiER offers 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connectivity, a MicroSD card expandable up to 256GB, and the usual array of gamepad buttons. Currently, the D008 starts at CNY 160 (~ $23) in black, white or purple. It remains to be seen when SZDiier will offer the device outside of China, and through which ODMs.
