While waiting for a potential PS5 and Xbox Series 2 version, Red Dead Redemption 2 players are having fun as best they can by creating sometimes unusual mods. This is the case of this Internet user who modified an aspect of the base game and the result is terrifying, bordering on a horror game!

While everyone is impatiently awaiting Grand Theft Auto VI, Red Dead Redemption II remains the last major Rockstar Games production to be released. And yet, despite its success, the title has still not been able to be ported to PS5 and Xbox Series while Grand Theft Auto V has. Better yet, the additions from the PS5 and Xbox versions of GTA 5 will be ported to the PC version, that’s saying something! Despite this lack of follow-up on the part of Rockstar, this does not prevent players from playing it and having fun by sometimes changing some parameters of the game which make it terrifying.

A mod as terrifying as it is hilarious

On the subreddit dedicated to video games, namely r/gaming, a user by the name of Blurbss posted a clip of his game of Red Dead Redemption 2 which was astonishing to say the least. Indeed, he explains that he modded the game to ensure that horses and wagons have supersonic speed… which makes them deadly in the event of impact with the player.. As a result, RDR 2 becomes a real horror game because you can be killed at any time and so quickly that it is akin to a jump scaring of a horror experience. Despite the surprising side of the thing, this mod is also hilarious as many Internet users point out in the comments. “It's really stupid. But I'm still laughing” says nailbunny2000 with his comment which received the most likes.

GTA preferred to Red Dead by Rockstar?

As a reminder, we recently learned that Red Dead Redemption 2 had sold more than 67 million copies worldwide in 2024. Enough to make it the sixth best-selling video game of all time, notably behind its big brother GTA 5 which proudly displays 205 million copies sold since its release in 2013. And yet, despite this popularity, RDR 2 does not seem to receive as much care as its predecessor from Rockstar. In addition to the absence of a port on current consoles like the PS5 and the Xbox Series, the Red Dead Online experience has not had the right to such a sustained follow-up. Hoping that things will be corrected with the next episode which could be released after GTA 6 we imagine.
