The famous graphics chip manufacturer has just launched the first version of its Nvidia App application. This unified control center aims to bring together the multiple functions and services of its GPU ecosystem within a single interface.
At the start of 2024, Nvidia began the gradual migration of several of the functions and services dedicated to its graphics circuits within a single application, obviously free and freely downloadable: Nvidia App. After several months of testing in beta version, the new control center is therefore released in stable version 1.0, with the promise of modernizing and simplifying access to the settings of GPUs, games and the various services of the ecosystem of the business.
The main change brought by Nvidia App is the unification of the old Nvidia Control Panel and GeForce Experience in a single interface. Thus, all tasks related to updating drivers, configuring video output or individual settings in each game are gathered and accessible in the same place. Nvidia App also adopts a modernized graphical interface, more in line with current aesthetic standards.
The application is structured into six sections, accessible via a vertical banner on the left: Home, Drivers, Graphics, System, Use and Settings. All functions and tools previously divided between Nvidia Control Panel and GeForce Experience are now accessible via these tabs: choose and install a driver (Drivers), configure the graphics settings of each game (Graphics), configure its screen and video output (System), etc.
But Nvidia App also functions as a central hub providing access to all other applications in the Nvidia ecosystem, including those dedicated to recording and broadcasting (NVIDIA Broadcast), content creation (NVIDIA Canvas), cloud gaming (GeForce NOW) or even measuring in-game performance (NVIDIA FrameView). All these third-party applications can be managed from the new application’s single interface.
Obviously, you must use a PC equipped with a graphics circuit from Nvidia – a GeForce, therefore, whether on a dedicated card or on a chip soldered on the motherboard – to take advantage of the application. With this new unified and modernized control center, the company is taking another step in a direction it has been following for years. Indeed, beyond the single hardware component that is the graphics card, Nvidia has developed a very wide range of software tools dedicated to video games, 3D modeling or even artificial intelligence, which can be used without exaggerate to describe “an ecosystem” as it is vast and complete. With Nvidia App, the company is continuing its strategy of ever greater integration and unification of all of its products and services.
