the largest battery that can be found on a “normal” smartphone

Redmagic, a subsidiary of ZTE Nubia, is preparing to launch its new 10 Pro. Let's look at what it has to offer.

The Chinese manufacturer Red Magic, a subsidiary of ZTE Nubia, did not wait for the official presentation to reveal the advantages of its new flagship. And the least we can say is that this smartphone is not good at anything.

A monster of power

First striking element: the screen. With a diagonal of 6.85 inches, the Red Magic 10 Pro offers an impressive OLED panel, with a “1.5K” definition and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. But its real innovation lies in the absence of punch or dimming. Notch: the front camera is hidden under the screen. ZTE Nubia has mastered this technology well, even if you should expect slightly worse camera performance. The magic trick has its limits.

The back of the smartphone also surprises with its sobriety: no more imposing photo modules which characterize most high-end smartphones. Here, two photo sensors are integrated discreetly above a distinctive element: a small integrated fan.

Revolutionary cooling technology

This is perhaps where the real innovation of the Red Magic 10 Pro lies: its cooling system called “Ice X”. Beyond the mini-fan (which lights up, a little gaming touch), the smartphone has a sandwich cooling system incorporating a layer of indium, a rare metal known for its excellent thermal conductivity properties.

This technology theoretically makes it possible to maintain good performance even during the most intensive gaming sessions. In any case, that's the promise.

Autonomy is not to be outdone, with a titanic 7,050 mAh battery. This is quite simply the largest capacity ever seen on a smartphone equipped with the latest processor Snapdragon 8 Elite.

The Redmagic 10 Pro should arrive soon in Europe, where the brand has been trying to establish itself for several years. If previous models sometimes suffered from approximate translations of their interface, the manufacturing quality has always been there.

Note that Nubia also plans to release a more “classic” version of this smartphone under the name Nubia Z70 Ultra, without the fan, in favor of a more advanced photo module.
