The Witcher 4: the game's GOG sheet reveals a strange placeholder | Xbox

Although the release of the first opus of the new Witcher trilogy is certainly not planned for immediately, CD Projekt communicates quite openly on the progress of its production, as well as on the other games in the franchise and the next Cyberpunk. The GOG sheet for what we currently call The Witcher 4 has just been updated to reveal a strange placeholder. Remember that GOG is a digital distribution platform for DRM-free games created by CD Projekt.

Screenshots of “The Witcher” were taken on the game’s GOG page, on which we could see the mention of a release date for December 31, 2025. Obviously, this particularly anticipated new adventure will not be released. discover from this date, but the presence of a placeholder for 2025 is still intriguing. What if CD Projekt planned a launch for next year?

This information is of course not revealing of anything and we will have to wait for an official statement from the development studio to see more clearly. Note, however, that of all the projects announced by CD Projekt (Project Polaris, Project Canis Majoris, Project Sirius, Project Hadar and Project Orion), only Project Polaris was entitled to a placeholder. The game sheet has since been deleted, while those of the other projects can still be consulted from the application, with the exception of Project Hadar.

We learned at the end of August that The Witcher 4 was preparing to enter full production with more than 400 employees focused on the project. It therefore seems quite unimaginable to consider a release for next year.

CD Projekt also revealed that 60 people were focusing on Orion, the code name for the next game in the Cyberpunk universe. Finally, the company revealed that Sirius, the PvE co-op game in the Witcher universe developed by The Molasses Flood, as well as Project Hadar, the new IP from CD Projekt, was progressing “at a steady pace”.

We shouldn't expect to hear about Project Canis Majoris for a while, since the remake of the very first The Witcher will see the light of day after The Witcher 4.
