Last February, Google and Samsung announced that they were merging their own file sharing solutions to create Quick Share. Enough to make it the equivalent of AirDrop in the Windows/Android ecosystem.

To go further
With Quick Share, Google finally has its definitive answer to AirDrop on Android

However, since its launch, Quick Share faced a weight limitation: the function was reserved for PCs running an Intel or AMD processor only, with an x86 architecture.

Finally, as the site points out 9to5macGoogle has decided to extend this functionality to also offer it to PCs equipped with an ARM processor, like the models running a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip.

Quick Share compatible with all Windows PCs

On the English version of the page dedicated to the Quick Share functionality, Google now specifies:

For Windows computers running at least a 64-bit version of Windows 10. Quick Share is now available on ARM devices running at least Windows 11.

However, the French-speaking version of the page has not yet been modified, which will not take long. It always indicates that “ ARM devices are not compatible ».

However, unlike PCs with Intel or AMD chips, those equipped with a Qualcomm processor must necessarily have Windows 11 installed in order to benefit from Quick Share.

As a reminder, Quick Share allows you to easily share files between a computer and an Android smartphone. It is also possible to go further by using Microsoft’s dedicated solution, the Mobile Connecté application.
