The release of each new iPhone is an event awaited by consumers around the world. The launch of the iPhone 16 last September was no exception to the rule. Each new generation smartphone includes its share of innovations and new features, sometimes making iPhones released only a few years ago almost obsolete. It’s still nice to look in the rearview mirror from time to time to remember Apple’s history. The “Vesica Picsis” iPhone, a one-of-a-kind prototype that has just leaked, is precisely a vestige of Apple’s past.
Prototype of an iPhone with Vesica Picsis leaked, video shows it from all angles
A video showing from every angle an astonishing prototype of an iPhone sporting a Vesica Picsis has appeared on the YouTube channel called Apple Demo. It combines elements of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro. The smartphone is not functional, but would have used to test different components and to test resistance to falls.
The major difference of this Vesica Picsis model is the absence of the Apple logo on the back of the device. Instead, there is a Vesica Picsis, a geometric shape representing two discs of the same diameter, the center of each of which is part of the circumference of the other. Note that this prototype includes haptic feedback for the power and volume buttons. A sort of preview of the iPhone 16 camera control button.
The one to manage the sound is a single button separated in two by a vertical engraving. Additionally, this iPhone has a copper-coated battery as well as slots for the front camera and Face ID module. iPhone prototypes are very rarely found in the wild, making this video even more valuable. Of course, we won’t know how the YouTube channel got it.
