The iPhone 15, 15 Pro Max, and 15 Pro are No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3, respectively, in Counterpoint Research’s latest list of the top 10 best-selling smartphones.
Based on data from the third quarter of 2024 (3Q2024), the results suggest that Android devices are still less popular than their Apple counterparts, and that demand for premium devices remains strong.
Again, the vanilla 15 accounted for half of iPhone sales in the report (which, oddly enough, doesn’t mention the larger model, the larger 15 Plus).
Meanwhile, the more affordable Samsung Galaxy A15 5G and its more affordable 4G/LTE-only device (a device that starts at $149.99 at Amazon) rounded out the top 5, while the vanilla S24 rose to the top spot. 10th place.
It is the only member of its flagship series to appear in this list, and was beaten to 9th place by the Redmi 13C 4G.
Now that the iPhone 16 is out, it will be interesting to see if its recycled camera components and A18 can shake up these rankings in the final quarter of 2024.
