The exceptional auction of vehicles Citroën organized by the Seine auction house was eagerly awaited in Fleury-sur-Andelle (Eure), at the end of September. A hundred cars, of utilities and of vans of the chevron brand was for sale. A large part had just come out of an owner’s barn with plates, miniatures and accessories bearing the Citroën logo.

Arriving at the parking lot of the‘Les Jumelles Factorylocated rue de Courcythe tone was set. The crowds were visible due to the difficulty in parking due to the numerous cars, campsites coming especially for the occasion, some with flatbeds ready to load the cars for another life. A sign of the exceptional nature of the sale, one could notice, here and there, German or Dutch number plates.

500 people in the hangar

In the warehouse of the auction house, more than 500 people Most of them were there to witness this real spectacle, and for a minority, to get a good deal among the French brand’s jewelry. From a few hundreds of euros to more than €45,000 for the most sought-after modelsthere was something for all budgets and for all tastes from the B12, to Front-wheel drive, including the DS, the 2 CV, or even the M35.

Remotely, behind their computer screens, some 900 bidders were also gathered for this first sale at the Fleury Factory.

After a few thumbnails, Maître Guillaume Cheroyanauctioneer launched automobile sales. A DS tow truck was sold to a buyer present in the room for around €13,000 when a Citroën Tissier campervan found a buyer “under the hammer” at €15,000.

€50,000 for the most beautiful piece

However, most of the lots were acquired by online buyers. This was the case for the 1985 BX 4TC, the rarest piece in the collection, which fetched €50,000, the highest bid of the day. Then came the Visa 1000 piste sold for €35,000 and the Citroën Bijoux, for €20,000. “Two 2 CV 6s were sold for €12,500 and another collector’s model for €15,000. We also had some nice surprises with quite a few lots which were acquired for sums ranging from €900 to €5,000,” explains Me Guillaume Cheroyan.

A show that was appreciated in the room: “The atmosphere is incredible, everyone is attentive. I had never attended an auction like this, it’s worth seeing and what beautiful cars,” testified Évelyne Jehan, who came from Claville to attend the sale.

Full success for the premiere

The luckiest lovers and collectors of the chevron brand left with one of the 100 models put on sale, some felt like they had missed a sale but everyone had a good time.

When taking stock, the auctioneer did not hide his satisfaction. “This is a first sale here in Fleury which goes beyond our expectations. We had a great turnout and the auctions also worked well.”

Enough to make you want to set the table again quickly. “We are planning two new sales on this site in the coming weeks,” continues Me Cheroyan. The first will take place Saturday November 16, 2024 and will concern modern vehicles (utility vehicles, automobiles, etc.).

Ferrari, Aston Martin and Porsche until November

The second, Saturday November 30, should once again move the crowds: “We will welcome our next collection of prestigious vehicles,” announces the auctioneer. This sale will bring together iconic brands: Ferrari, Aston Martin and Porsche. Enough to make fans of beautiful mechanics salivate.
