In , a school trains new professions in sport and artificial intelligence

Nearly 300 applications for 20 places… Digisport has enormous popularity among students who would like to pursue careers combining sport and high technology. Richard Kulpa, one of the three co-founders of this master’s and doctoral level training, explains the success of his school by its uniqueness in , being located at the interface between traditional training (computer science, electronics, data science, physical education and sports).

Useful AI for athletes

“There was a void. It’s not all about knowing how to do artificial intelligence, but you have to make sure that it’s useful for the coach and the athlete. This is the goal of Digisport,” summarizes the scientist who wears a double hat: computer engineer and university professor at 2 in Staps (Sciences and techniques of physical and sporting activities).

Today, there is a strong demand for data analysts. The revolution is underway but it’s only the beginning

Upon leaving school, its students display four different profiles: electronics with the creation of sensors, data science and artificial intelligence, modeling of human movements, computer science.

“This is just the beginning”

“Today, there is a huge need because sensors have developed enormously. We have a huge amount of data but we don’t always know what to do with it. »

Richard Kulpa’s students learn to uncover all this data and give it meaning. And they won’t be short of work. “Today, there is a strong demand for data analysts. The revolution is underway but it is only the beginning,” assures the academic who collaborates with several federations, including that of boxing as part of a virtual reality program.
