Previously priced at 899.99 euros, the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop (ANV15-41-R85W) is now available on sale for 699.99 euros at Cdiscount.
A very fluid panel to always be responsive
Unlike many other gaming laptops, this Acer Nitro adopts a rather sober design, devoid of frills or geometric details galore; here, we are instead treated to a classic black chassis, with marked angles, with the only fantasy being a colorful luminous logo behind the screen. At least it can please as many people as possible. On the other hand, like any good gaming laptop, it is not a featherweight with its 2.1 kg on the scale, but it remains light enough to be able to be taken on the move if necessary.
On the screen side, the Acer Nitro 5 integrates a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS panel, a more than comfortable diagonal for gaming and not missing any detail in the game. The viewing angles are also wide, which is always nicer, especially when two people are looking at the screen. To top it off, the screen also has a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The display therefore promises to be very fluid, and motion blurs and other slowdowns will have no place here. Exemplary fluidity which is also essential for fast games that require good responsiveness, such as FPS.
A good, fast laptop
The Acer Nitro 5 also has an RTX 4050, which represents the entry-level of Nvidia’s 4000 series, but which is fully capable of launching recent AAA titles at 1080p. This GPU also gives us the benefit of Nvidia technologies such as ray-tracing and DLSS 3 to improve the experience and graphics. But be careful, to keep a minimum FPS, you must not overdo it.
On the CPU side, an AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS clocked at 3.3 GHz (boost up to 4.5 GHz) takes place. It is supplemented by 16 GB of RAM to manage multitasking, as well as a 512 GB SSD, which promises to reduce game loading times and accelerate launches of the laptop as well as demanding software; a good point for creative people, for example. Finally, in terms of connectivity, the Acer Nitro 5 is equipped with an HDMI port, three USB-A 3.2 ports, a USB-C 3.2 port, a 3.5 mm jack port and an RJ-45 port.
