This new app lets you send messages from beyond

In-Memory is an application for sending messages, written or voice, as well as videos posthumously. It is a French creation available on iOS and Android since November 1st.

When a loved one leaves us, we often have very human reflexes which push us to listen to a voice message from them, to review photos or videos. We work on memories. In addition, depending on the degree of closeness, we must deal with the management of mourning and the procedures linked to the death. Following the death of his brother, Christophe Marlot, the founder of the company, had the idea of developing In-Memory. It is an application that allows users to plan messages to send after their death, answering three questions in particular: what, when and to whom.

The application presents itself as a digital will on the one hand, but also as a messaging system that is triggered after the death of a person. There is even an option to send advance directives. Of course, these are trusted people, designated by the user, who trigger the process at the appropriate time. When this is done, the messaging application is responsible for sending pre-recorded messages, PDF files, videos or even voice messages to the people concerned. Everything being end-to-end encrypted, no one other than the recipients has access to the content.

While it is possible to send a message of less than 6MB for free, it is necessary to checkout to send more. There are two subscription plans, one at €1.99 per month and the other at €6.99 per month. The first limits to 5 messages sent to the extent of 300MB and the second to 6GB of data to transmit. Of course, the subscription ends when trusted people confirm the death and trigger the sending process. There is an option with a one-time payment of €349.99. At this price, you have no constraints. Finally, note that the application is localized in German, English and French. Other languages should be available next year, including Arabic, Spanish and Chinese.
