Founded in 1988, the Thetford Mines Entertainment Committee (TRAM) allows the region’s population to have access to the biggest names on the Quebec cultural scene and elsewhere. The year 2023 marked a turning point for the broadcaster which, for its 35th anniversary, offered itself a change of vision and a renewal of its brand image.
Diffusion TRAM now focuses on a philosophy of collaboration with local organizations and businesses. The broadcaster, in addition to offering a growing number of benefit events, has established partnerships with the City of Thetford Mines, the Microbrasserie des Haldes and several other local businesses to offer a variety of events to its audience. TRAM also supports initiatives such as Culture Days and Saturday Shows.
“We have initiated a wind of change that allows us to support culture in the region while giving us the necessary momentum to pursue our mission,” underlines general director André Gagnon.
This transformation brought a new vision: expanding the cultural offering with a varied program, integrating musical styles such as hip-hop, punk and metal. Bar service has also made a comeback. Over the past year, more than 65 quality shows were presented to the public.
In 2023, Spect-Art finally became TRAM, a name that is impactful, concise and effective. This choice is a nod to the world of travel, suggesting a journey towards the living arts and a journey through culture. We also find the word ART upside down as well as the letters T and M, representing Thetford Mines.
Recipient of the Zénith in the Tourist, Cultural or Leisure Business category and finalist in the Business or Organization of the Year category.
