People looking for a job in the Province of Liège are invited to attend the Liège Digital Power House – Les Guichets de l’IT event. The latter will take place on November 23 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at La Grand Poste in Liège.
This initiative is the work of GRE-Liège, a strategic think tank defined as an “integrator”. Its aim is to bring together private and public operators around projects to revitalize the Liège provincial territory. With this in mind, he will organize Les Guichets de l’IT, an event which will take the form of a job dating. More concretely, the latter targets young people, people looking for work and those who want to retrain.
The objective of GRE-Liège is to demystify IT (information technology) professions. As Pierre Castelain, the communications director, told us, many people do not feel concerned. They do not take this route for fear that these professions are too complex and therefore not very accessible. Often, many focus on the profession of developer and overlook all the others. The event will therefore make it possible to combat this belief and show the various opportunities to be seized. Participants will be able to meet professionals in the sector and interact with them. Five companies will be represented on site, namely Ethias, EVS, Gaming1, NRB and NSI.
Of course, this will also be an opportunity to find out about possible training (the durations of these vary). For this, we will need to count on the presence of representatives from ULiège, HEPL, HELMo, Technifutur, Le Forem, BEcode and IFAPME. In short, according to Pierre Castelain, this meeting aims to provoke meetings, to bring out talents and to support them. It is also an opportunity to show that the IT sector is buoyant, dynamic and that job offers are increasing, therefore leaving professional opportunities.
