A new Android smartphone welcomes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip

6000 nits of brightness, a monster 6500 mAh battery, the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite: on paper, the Realme GT7 Pro has everything of a premium smartphone.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite welcomes a new high-end: the Realme GT7 Pro. We will take a look at it quickly, because for the moment, it has not been announced in .

A technical sheet that imposes

The Realme GT7 Pro is not lacy in terms of characteristics. At the heart of the device, we obviously find Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite, supposed to offer performance worthy of the best smartphones on the market.

However, a shadow already hangs over these promises: the device was caught cheating on benchmarks, an unfortunately common practice, but which raises questions about real performance in daily use.

The 6.78-inch OLED screen is huge with its curved edges and above all its maximum brightness at 6,000 nits in HDR. A stratospheric figure that needs to be qualified: full screen brightness is limited to 2000 nits, which remains excellent, but closer to current standards. The 120Hz refresh rate and 120% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space round out an impressive spec sheet.

Autonomy is not to be outdone with a monumental 6,500 mAh battery, a capacity rarely seen on a high-end smartphone. Wireless fast charging at 120W promises lightning refueling.

On the photo side, Realme plays the versatility card with a four-sensor system. If the 50 MP main module (Sony IMX906) and the 50 MP telephoto lens with x3 optical zoom seem promising, the ultra wide-angle and the 16 MP selfie sensor appear more modest.

The integration of a latest generation ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, capable of operating with wet fingers, is one of the elements of the technical sheet which aroused our curiosity.

Launched in China from 3,999 yuan (around €520) for the 12/512 GB version, the Realme GT7 Pro is clearly positioned as a flagship killer. The maximum 16 GB / 1 TB version remains below €620, a particularly aggressive price for the technical sheet offered.

However, these Chinese prices do not predict European prices, which are traditionally higher. Additionally, international availability is not yet confirmed, although the previous GT6 was released in France.
