A very fluid panel for competitive games
The HP Victus 15 is a portable PC so the design contrasts quite a bit with that of other gaming machines: here, no angular lines and geometric details galore, but rather a minimalist, gray and fairly thin chassis. Weighing in at 2.3kg, it doesn’t qualify as an ultrabook, but carrying it around shouldn’t be too difficult. On the connectivity side, there are two USB-A 3.0 ports, a USB-C port, an HDMI 2.1 port, a headphone/microphone jack, and an Ethernet port.
On the screen side, this HP Victus 15 has a 15.6-inch Full HD panel, which offers wide viewing angles and good image quality on a diagonal that is more than comfortable for playing and not missing any detail in your game. To top it all off, the refresh rate can reach 144Hz; the promised fluidity is therefore exemplary, and jerks and other motion blurs are correctly eliminated. Something to reassure fans of FPS and competitive games.
A nice setup
In the bowels of the machine, we first find an Intel Core i5-12500H processor, clocked at 2.2 GHz (boost up to 4.5 GHz) and whose 12 cores allow it to perform more tasks simultaneously. The chip is also supported by 16 GB of RAM to manage multitasking and launching complex software. This CPU is also complemented by an RTX 4060 graphics card; a GPU thanks to which we can launch the latest AAA titles in 1080p or even 1440p without blinking with several features of Nvidia enabled such as ray-tracing and DLSS. A 512 GB SSD accompanies everything and gives us the benefit of shorter loading times, faster startup of the laptop and therefore much better responsiveness.
In terms of connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 are included. And in terms of autonomy, we know: gaming laptops are not endurance champions, due to their resource-intensive configuration. The brand still promises an autonomy of 8h30 and a recharge which allows you to recover 50% of the battery in 30 minutes.
